Write Output To File: To route the contents of the Search Results list to a file, enter a file of your choice in this field. If this field is blank, no file is produced. If no path is specified, the current directory is used. Use the Browse button () to the right of the field to select an output file via a File Save As dialog. The default name suggestion is "Results.txt.". Supply another name if you want. The contents are the same as Note that what is written to this file is the same information presented in the Search & Replace results display. Therefore, to adjust the output, make selections in the "Hit Line Display" checkbox fields.
Notes and Additional Functions:
To dump the search results directly to the Windows clipboard, specify "clipboard" (no quotes) in this field. Clipboard contents are overwritten with each new search (or replace). To turn off the clipboard dump, blank out the field.
To route the search results to your printer, enter the phrase "Default Printer" (case insensitive, no quote characters) in this field. Long lines will be word wrapped in the printed output. To turn off printing, blank out the field.
To output the file contents in html format, specify '.htm' or '.html' as a name extension for the output file the program writes. The formatting is similar to the results you see from the 'View as HTML' function.
See the Copy Search Info to Clipboard switch in Options|Display to control whether or not search parameters are included in the output report.
